Below are links to many organisations involved with the technical side of the arts who are able to provide advice and useful information on all aspects of training, funding and work.

www.artscouncil.org.uk - Arts Council England is the national development agency for the arts in England, distributing public money from Government and the National Lottery.
www.artscouncil-ni.org - The Arts Council of Northern Ireland supports and promotes the Arts in Northern Ireland.
www.artswales.org - The Arts Council of Wales (ACW) is responsible for funding and developing the arts in Wales. The Welsh Assembly Government provides ACW with money to fund the arts in Wales and, as an Assembly Sponsored Public Body (ASPB), ACW is responsible to the Welsh Assembly Government for the way this money is spent. ACW is also the distributor of Lottery money for the arts in Wales.

www.bectu.org.uk - BECTU is the independent union for those working in broadcasting, film, theatre, entertainment, leisure, interactive media and allied areas who are based in the UK.
www.drama.ac.uk - The Conference of Drama Schools Ltd (CDS) represents the top 21 UK drama schools. All the CDS schools offer vocational courses in acting (and in some cases musical theatre, stage management and technical theatre) for students over the age of 18.
www.equity.org.uk - Equity is the only Trade Union to represent artists from across the entire spectrum of arts and entertainment. Its membership includes actors, singers and dancers through to circus artists, television/radio presenters, stunt performers and directors. The main function of Equity is to negotiate minimum terms and conditions of employment throughout the entire world of entertainment and to try to ensure these take account of both social and economic changes.
www.ncdt.co.uk - National Council for Drama Training. The purpose of the NCDT is to promote, enhance and maintain the highest possible standards of vocational training and education for the professional actor and stage manager/technician. It also provides a forum within which the various sides of the profession can discuss matters of common interest in relation to training.
www.scottisharts.org.uk - The Scottish Arts Council is one of the main channels for Government funding for the arts in Scotland. It also distributes National Lottery funds received from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and funds a range of arts organisations for annual programmes of work. In addition, it makes project and lottery grants to individual artists and arts organisations.
www.skillset.org - Skillset is the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries (broadcast, film, radio, video, interactive media and photo imaging).
www.thestage.co.uk - The UK weekly theatre, broadcasting and light entertainment newspaper's website. As well as the latest news and reviews, it contains information on auditions and job opportunities.
www.theatredesign.org.uk - The Society was created to benefit designers and their profession - to explore and further the role of the designer within the arts today.
