What are the Awards?
The Dance and Drama Awards (DaDA) provide national scholarships for the most talented dance and drama students. They offer greatly reduced tuition fees and can help with living and learning costs at some of the leading private dance and drama training providers in England.
Who are they for?
DaDAs are for students who wish to become dancers, actors or stage managers. You must be aged over 16 for dance courses and over 18 for acting and stage management courses. You must also be an EU or EEA national and have been resident in the EU or EEA country for the three years prior to the start of the course.
What does an Award provide?
The Award will pay for the majority of your tuition fees; you will however be asked to make a contribution to these fees. For 2007/2008 the student fee contribution has been set at £1,225.
What qualifications will I study?
The Trinity College London qualifications have been developed to ensure that you have the vocational competences required to enter the sector at graduate level. Courses last between one and three years and offer recognised and high-level qualifications at National Diploma (Level 6) and National Certificate level (Level 5). These qualifications are:
3-year full-time programmes:
National Diploma in Professional Acting
National Diploma in Professional Dance
National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre
2-year full-time programmes:
National Diploma in Professional Production Skills
National Certificate in Professional Dance
1-year full-time programme:
National Certificate in Professional Acting
Where can I study?
You can only get a DaDA if you study for the Trinity Level 5 and 6 qualifications at one of the schools participating in the scheme - these are:

How do I apply?
You must contact your chosen school, making sure they know you want to apply for an Award. The school will send you information about their courses and tell you how to apply. Demand for this type of training is high and the number of awards offered by each school is limited; therefore you should find out about courses and apply as early as possible and well in advance of when you wish to start your training.
Can I get any extra help?
If you live in England, Scotland or Wales you can apply for extra help with your fees and living costs but this will depend on your family's financial income. After you are given an Award, ask your dance or drama training provider for an application form to apply for help from the Income-Assessed Student Support Fund.

Please note: if you get an Award you will not be eligible to apply for an HE Student Loan.
