What would your ideal career be? Starring in The Bill, EastEnders, or a costume drama? Your name in lights in a major West End musical? Perhaps touring the country in an Agatha Christie thriller? Nobody has ever made a secret of the amount of dedication and effort required to be a successful actor. You'll have to be prepared for others persuading you to follow another career-path or be told that acting is not a 'proper' job.

It's important you gain as much knowledge about the profession as you can. If you feel you've got what it takes, then undertake drama training to give you the best chance of a sustained career. Within this section, find out about different acting courses and qualifications available depending on your age at what stage of training you may be at, plus much more.
